This woman had a history of prior skin cancer on her left upper lip which was treated in the distant past by another surgeon and healed as a white scar. She developed another skin cancer on the upper lip closer to the nose and underwent Mohs surgery to remove this basal cell carcinoma. Dr. Yeh performed lip repair by using an advancement tissue flap from the neighboring tissue to repair the defect and prevent the type of scarring she had experienced in the past.
